Airmen power daily aircraft operations

U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 647th Civil Engineer Squadron and the 624th CES maintain a barrier arresting kit during weekly maintenance on the flightline at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 17, 2024. The barrier system is designed to be used during emergency landings, when the aircraft has a damaged or malfunctioning landing gear, or when the aircraft is unable to land using its own brakes.
