909th ARS supports Hornets in the air

A crew chief assigned to the 909th Aircraft Maintenance Unit moves a staircase after securing the drogue to a KC-135 Stratotanker prior to a flight in support of a joint training exercise over the Pacific Ocean, Oct. 24, 2022. The drogue trails behind the tanker on a flexible hose. During aerial refueling, it connects with a retractable probe on the receiving aircraft to deliver fuel.
