Navy Diver 2nd Class Chris Emanus, administers simulated aid to Lt. Col. Matthew Hoyt, 15th Medical Group aerospace medicine chief, before treatment in the hyperbaric recompression chamber during an exercise at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, March 23, 2021. Airmen, Sailors, and members of the JBPHH Federal Fire Department responded to a simulated in-flight emergency and escorted an aircrew member to the hyperbaric recompression chamber for treatment. In the event an aircrew member experiences decompression sickness, the hyperbaric recompression chamber allows members to breathe pure oxygen in a pressurized environment speeding up a member's recovery.
