Pacific service members recognized during CFC award ceremony
U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Jon T. Thomas, Pacific Air Forces deputy commander, left, presents the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Medium Agency of the Year Award to U.S. Coast Guard Master Chief Petty Officer Charlie Salls, during a CFC Award Ceremony at Joint Base Pearl-Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Feb. 26, 2021. Salls received the award on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam. His organization was successful in increasing total donations from their 2019 results of $50 to more than $3,000. As a creative tool to increase donations, the agency implemented a marketing method called the “$1 Challenge.” Employees were encouraged to review the list of charitable organizations and commit one dollar as a single or recurring donation to a charity of their choice.
