The practice became common in late April and throughout May 1975 due to the increasing number of refugees. Operation New Life, ran from April 23 to November 1, 1975, airlifting over 100,000 evacuees and refugees from South Vietnam. (U.S. Air Force photo provided by 15 WG historian office)
