Operation Baby Lift

During Operation Baby Lift long lines of volunteers tend to the babies. The babies were bathed, clothed, fed, provided medical care if needed, and simply comforted during their layover at either the Honolulu International Airport or MAC Terminal on Hickam Air Force Base. Operation Baby Lift ran from April 3-26, 1975 and evacuated more than 3,000 babies and young children, most of whom were orphans, to the U.S. (U.S. photo provided by 15 WG historian office)
