Pilot For a Day: Kodey Deuz

Kodey Deuz, a child battling aortic stenosis, aortic insufficiency and mitral regurgitation, right, hops around inside a 20-man inflatable life raft as sister, Kelci, and his father, Leo, and look on during a tour of the 15th Operations Support Squadron, aircrew flight equipment facility as part of the Pilot for a Day program at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Oct. 4, 2013. The goal of this program is to benefit children and their families in the local community who have catastrophic illnesses. It is not directed at any one illness or disease, and not restricted to children with "terminal" illnesses. For many children with catastrophic, but not "terminal" illnesses, the Pilot for a Day Program can be a significant part of their recovery. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Jerome S. Tayborn)
