15th Wing honors memorializes fallen Tuskegee Airman

Tuskegee Airman Romaine Goldsborough congressional medal awarded to the Tuskegee Airman by President George W. Bush as he saluted them for their honorable service. The medal is now on display at the Grey Geese room at the Binnicker Professional Military Center at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The Tuskegee Airmen were recruited into an Army Air Corps program that trained blacks to fly and maintain combat aircraft. President Roosevelt had overruled his top generals and ordered that such a program be created. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Jerome S. Tayborn)
