After the storm
Maj. Joseph Golovach and Capt. John Ramsey III prepare to leave Wake Island in their C-17 Globemaster III Sept. 12 2006. The C-17 is taking the 36th Contingency Response Group from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam back home. The 36th CRG was the initial assessment team on the island to survey the airfield and determine if aircraft could land after the island was hit by Super Typhoon Ioke Aug 31. The pilots are from the 535th Airlift Squadron, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Tech. Sgt. Shane A. Cuomo)
