EOD Air Force Team of the Year

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii – Staff Sgt. Ryan Bobzin, 15th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal technician, rigs an improvised explosive device inside a booby-trapped house on base June 22. As part of regular training, EOD team leaders send a robot in the house to assess the situation and detonate or disarm the IEDs before sending a team member into the building with a bomb suit. They take situations previously encountered in deployed locations and make them harder than real life so that when they get to the field they’re prepared for anything.
