Air Attache visit

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Thirty-seven Air Attachés and their spouses - 78 people total from 32 countries - learn the hula on the flightline here during a Chief of Staff-directed annual tour Oct. 4-10. These Attachés, who are representatives of international air forces at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., get distinguished treatment in the Pacific and Europe during these visits to the theaters of operations for the U.S. Air Force. It is important for the U.S. Air Force to demonstrate its ability to fly, fight and win as well as extend hospitality to allied military forces. While here, the Attachés visited Pacific Command, Pacific Air Forces, and Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command and laid a wreath at the U.S.S. Arizona memorial at here in honor of those who lost their lives during the 1941 attacks on the United States. (U.S. Air Force photo/Mark Bates)
