American Legion Spirit of Service Award

LOUSIVILLE, Ky. -- Staff Sgt. Tony Jacobsmeier, 15th Civil Engineer Squadron 'Dirt Boy,' was presented the American Legion Spirit of Service Award Aug. 25 by (left to right) Admiral Michael, Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; General David H. Petraeus, commander, U.S Central Command; and David Rehbein National Commander of American Legion. He and four other military servicemembers, one from each branch of service, were honored at the 91st National Convention in Louisville, Ky. To receive this recognition, an individual must be an outstanding military professional, actively involved in community volunteer projects during off-duty hours.
