H1N1 prevention
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Lt. Colonel Cindy Robison, 15th Medical Group, explains the difference in the H1N1 flu shot and the flumist before vaccinating Capt. Samantha Kelpis, 15th Medical Group, here Nov. 5. The medical group currently does not have injectable H1N1 influenza vaccine in stock. Individuals receiving the vaccination cannot have chronic diseases such as asthma, angina, cancer, kidney disease, lung disease, diabetes, heart disease, or, history of a heart attack or stroke. In addition, the medical group does not have the vaccine available for pregnant individuals or those having used steroids or cortisone in last three months.
