Tower twinkles in the Hawaii sky
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Emily O'Malley, 9, the daughter of Maj. Scott O'Malley, Pacific Air Forces Headquarters, and wife Angela, won the grand prize for the "If I could have one wish" essay contest. Her essay entry won a $50 Army and Air Force Exchange Service gift certificate. Her essay read:"If I could have one wish this holiday season, it would be for the world to have peace and the wars to end. All the deployed will come home and celebrate Christmas or Hanukah or Kwanza with their kids. Children and moms and dads will be happy and overjoyed. Family members will come to celebrate with the family. We will all be with our loved ones. No one will be sad or depressed. We will all feel better, knowing that our parents are home. A parent to come home for the holidays is the best wish anyone could ask for." The other two winners were Ami Roberts, 6, and Logan Greenlee, 11. All three students attend Hickam Elementary School.
