Gettin' down and dirty, Hawaiian style
MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii -- More than 450 six-person teams got down and dirty during the muddiest race of the year at the Marine Corps' 16th Annual Swamp Romp Feb. 20. The Marine Corps Combat Service Support Group 3 and Marine Corps Community Services hosted the five-mile muddy obstacle course known as Oahu's "dirtiest footrace." Some teams dressed for the occasion by putting on their combat boots and strapping them down with duct tape, while others went for a more themed approach. Costumes from jail birds and ninjas to superheroes like Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Super Girl and a group of prom night beauty contestants were not in their best condition at the end of the race.
