Beach Bum Parade
JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii -- Sam Barrett, Col. Sam Barrett, and Chief Master Sgt. Craig Recker fires their water cannons at spectators during the annual Beach Bum Parade May 21 on Hickam. Colonel Barrett, 15th Wing commander, and his family took on spectators with water balloons, fire hoses, water guns, water cannons and water hoses as they rolled by in the parade. Parade began at Bishop's Point Pier and ended at Hickam Harbor with free food and entertainment at Foster Point Pavilion. Those who wanted to were able to campout at Hickam Harbor after the parade for a fun, family night, gathered around a campfire for free s'mores. Once the sun set, campers enjoyed a movie on the beach on a large outdoor movie screen. Chief Recker is the 15th Wing's command chief master sergeant. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Mike Meares)
