Keiki hooked on fishing

JOINT BASE PERAL HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii -- Ryan Strong, 10; Mahinalani Cavalieri, 12; Kristina Poe, 12, Madilyn Wilson, 5; Benjamin Rolfe, 5; Tyler Menzel, 9; Kelwen Lee Chung Jr., 11; and Abigael McCain, 11 took home trophies for the most fish and biggest fish in their categories at the Keiki Fishing Tournament, hosted by Friends of Hickam, June 2 at the Ho`omaluhia Botanical Gardens. Keiki, the Hawaiian word for children, caught a tournament record 732 fish. This is the 11th straight year the Friends of Hickam has hosted the event for more than 200 children every year.
