Competition brings out the ‘beast’
A decoy for the 2010 Hawaiian Islands Working Dog Competition stops to catch his breath Nov. 19 after catching K-9s during the hardest-hitting dog event, won by U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Ricky Renfroe and his dog, Jimmy, who are assigned to the 647th Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Thirty-nine handlers from the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force, as well as the Honolulu Police Department, Japan, Alaska, Ft. Huachuca, and Ft. Leonard Wood brought their K-9s to the competition Nov. 15 to 19 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The competition served to both reward the dog teams for their hard work throughout the year and bring different services together. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Carolyn Viss)
