Local youth becomes "Pilot for a Day"
Seven year-old Jonah "J-Boy" Kalaikai listens as 535th Airlift Squadron pilot Captain Domonic Bonello explains what occurs inside the cockpit of a C-17 Globemaster III during flight while at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii on April 2, 2010. J-Boy was invited to JBPHH to participate in the "Pilot for a Day" program which is a partnership between Kapi'olani Medical Center and the 15th Airlift Wing that gives a special day to a child that is dealing with a serious or chronic condition. J-Boy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at age two and has been in and out of remission five times since then. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech Sgt. Cohen A. Young)
