A brush up

51st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron First Sergeant, Master Sgt. Robert Ellis, a native of Washington, D.C. and currently assigned to the 25 Expeditionary Squadron paints the base of a building while he and 43 other Airmen paint the Sapang Bato Elementary School located in Angeles City Philippines on April 9. The Airmen pulled their own money together in order to buy painting supplies and then took a break from Balikatan 2011 to volunteer and spread good will to the Sapang Bato community. Balikatan is a regularly scheduled exercise focusing on interoperability of forces and training and assistance in humanitarian and civic assistance operations. The experience gained in Balikatan complements our security assistance program and will improve upon existing AFP counter-terrorism programs. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Cohen A. Young)
