Operation Hele-On

Children learn about "MOPP" (Mission Oriented Protective Posture) gear as part of their "mobility processing" during Operation Hele-On, a mock deployment for military families at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Aug 19. 155 children participated in the annual event, which included getting mobility bags and "gear" issued, getting bussed to the flight line, and a tour of the KC-135. This experience was geared to help children understand what their parents go through during a real military deployment. (U.S. Air Force photo/David D. Underwood, Jr.)
