Remembering a friend
Durward Swanson, Dec. 7, 1941, Hickam Field survivor, visit the resting place of George Smith at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, or Punchbowl National Cemetery, Nov. 22 during his visit to Hawaii. Swanson visited the base where 70 years ago he survived the sudden attack by the Japanese on Dec. 7, 1941. His friend Smith was killed during the attacks on Hickam Field.
