Honoring heroes
Master Sgt. Kevin Taggerty, 735th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron aircraft maintenance unit NCOIC, places a flag and a lei at the gravesite of an Army Air Forces Airman killed at Hickam Field, Dec. 7, 1941, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl on Dec. 2, 2012. Ten volunteers used a roster to identify the locations at the cemetery and placed 92 flags. His daughter Ryah, 14, was part of a group of teenagers who started this project last year.
