Hickam breaks ground on new ramp control tower
Shoveling the first dirt of a $7.4 million project, honored military and contractor partners take the first step in a special groundbreaking ceremony and Hawaiian blessing performed by Kahu Kordell Kekoa (right) for a new ramp control tower near the flightline at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, March 14, 2013. When complete, the tower will provide Hickam’s air traffic controllers with increased visibility, a new training simulator area, increased security, added office space and enhanced environmental controls.
