JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii --
The National Football League's top players took to Earhart Field for an Official NFL Pro Bowl Practice session Jan. 23.
Thousands of fans lined the field, wearing their favorite team's gear, in order to get a glimpse of the players and trainers.
"I'm most excited to see Cam Newton," said Senior Airman John Hunt, 647th Security Forces Squadron.
Hunt, a Carolina Panthers fan, said he's appreciative of Newton, Carolina's Quarterback, and the rest of the players for practicing on base for service members and their families.
"I think it's great that they come out here and support all the troops and family members," Hunt said. "I love coming out and watching them do what they do best."
Players were split into two teams, Team Sanders and Team Rice, the teams they will be on for the Pro Bowl.
During the practice, players worked with trainers and each other to ensure they are ready for the big game.
"I appreciate the players being out here," said Airman 1st Class Bilal Karoum, 747th Communications Squadron. "It lets us see how they prepare for a game, and it's nice to seem them interact with the crowd."
Karoum, a Houston Texans fan, was most excited to see DeSean Jackson, a wide receiver from the Philadelphia Eagles.
The players wrapped up the practice with signing autographs for the fans.
The NFL Pro Bowl game will take place Jan. 26 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
