New OG Commander - Col Hockman Published March 22, 2007 By Angela Elbern, photojournalist 15 AW/PA Hickam AFB, HI -- Col. Andrew M. Hockman assumed command of the 15th Operations Group from Col. JJ Torres, 15th Airlift Wing Commander, at an Assumption of Command ceremony held under clear blue skies last Friday morning, 16 March 2007, at Freedom Mall. "We are certainly excited and happy to have the Hockman clan finally aboard," said Col. JJ Torres, 15th Airlift Wing Commander, in his speech before the crowd of Team Hickam members and community representatives. "I know that you all will fit in just fine." Colonel Hockman was the director of Operations Management at Tanker Airlift Control Center, 18th Air Force, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, IL, where he was responsible for the coordination of a fleet of more than 1,200 aircraft. As the new 15 OG Commander, Colonel Hockman will continue to oversee the operation of the Air Force's largest joint-use airfield. The colonel is joined at Hickam by his wife Audrey -- who serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve -- and the couple's two daughters, Cecilia and Kaylor.
