Nearly 60 deployed/remote-tour family members headed to Nelles Chapel to fellowship and enjoy dinner together during the Airman and Family Readiness Center's monthly activity dinner.

Col. JJ. Torres, 15th Airlift Wing Commander and his wife, Irene, Col Dean. Wolford, 15 AW Vice Commander and his wife Kathy, and Chief Master Sgt. Tom Westermeyer, 15 AW Command Chief and his wife Diana attended the event to visit and show support for the family members.

The program, designed to support Airmen and family members who are deployed or away on remote tours, has been supported by commanders and first sergeants and the Airmen and Family Readiness Center along with many volunteer agencies.

The purpose of this program is to encourage interaction among family members, as well as provide a break for the spouse while military sponsor is deployed.

"It's a good opportunity for them to share experiences, concerns, issues and become each other's support group, while they also learn more about resources that they may seek for any help," said Chap. Capt. James Parrish, 15th Airlift Wing Chapel, "Thanks to all young and adult volunteers who made this dinner a very meaningful and enjoyable one."
