Hickam leaders attend reception with Korean Consul General

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii --  October is filled with many celebration days for Koreans. To help celebrate one of the biggest days in the Republic of Korea history, Armed Forces Day and National Foundation Day, leaders of the Pacific Air Forces, 13th Air Force, and 15th Airlift Wing from Hickam AFB were on hand to help the Republic of Korea celebrate the 4341st anniversary of Korea's National Foundation Day.

The Consul General of the Republic of Korea and local South Korean community here in Honolulu brought together a national day celebration Friday evening in the Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel.  During the opening remarks to the celebration event, Bong Joo Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, said "this day fills citizens with nationalistic pride of a 4,000 year history of Korea".  

More than 400 guests, including government officials from various sectors, foreign representatives, civil society groups, Korean War veterans, and the other military leaders attended the 4341st anniversary of Korea's National Foundation Day.
