Two Hickam Heroes Recognized by Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii --  Since 2001, the Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor has honored our local military and civilian first responders for their service to our state and country during an annual heores luncheon.

This year, two Hickam members - Capt. Joseph Ringer, 15th Security Forces Squadron, and Staff Sgt. LaNitra Higgins, 15th Aeromedical Dental Squadron were among the 26 recognized last Monday, Dec 1.

"We are here today to honor our guests on their exemplary service to our community and nation," said Donna McLaughlin, President of Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor. "It is truly a wonderful experience to meet these remarkable individuals and to honor them for their accomplishment."

The Heroes lunch included an introduction of all 26 heroes, plus an informative "talk story with slides" from Major General Robert G.E. Lee, State of Hawaii Adjutant General.

"It was a fitting tribute to the men and women in uniform and the community's first responders who selflessly serve their state and nation," said Col Dean Wolford, 15th Airlift Wing Vice Commander. "The event definitely showed a spirit of appreciation from our local community".
