HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, HAWAII – Charles Cornwall of Seattle, Wash., tours the 15th Medical Group conference room Aug. 11. The room is dedicated to his great-aunt, 1st Lt. Annie G. Fox, the chief nurse here during the attack on Oahu on December 7, 1941. She was the first woman and the first Army nurse to earn a Purple Heart. Lieutenant Fox was honored for her leadership, bravery, and actions during the attack. Mr. Cornwall toured the hospital and various other sites on Hickam while vacationing here in Hawaii recently.
