Water Consumers in Hickam Receive 2010 Water Published June 28, 2010 By the Environmental Flight Office JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM, Hi -- As a purveyor of water in Hickam, the Environmental Compliance Element (647 CES/CEVQ) and Bioengineering (15 ADS/SGPB) began distributing its 2010 Water Quality Reports to customers in mid June. The reports provide information about the water that has been delivered over the past year. "In 2009, our drinking water quality met all regulatory requirements for our system," said Henry Rimas, Environmental Engineer at Hickam Environmental Compliance Element. "Annual water quality reports are being mailed to tenant activities, Hickam community housing offices, Visiting Airman Quarters, Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, Youth Centers and other customers who receive water from us." Annual Water Quality Reports, also called the Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs), are required by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. They provide data on the quality of drinking water provided to water consumers. These reports/brochures include information on the sources of water, health effects, compliance status, and other related information. They also contain a table listing all contaminants detected in water delivered to customers at levels above the EPA's prescribed minimum detection limits. Copies of all Water Quality Report brochures may also be obtained from Environmental Flight's Office (647 CES/CEVQ) by calling 449-3182 or Bioenvironmental Office (15 ADS/SGPB) at 448-6769. Electronic copies of brochures are also posted on Hickam's website. To view the report online, click here.
