As part of the celebration marking the arrival of F-22A Raptor aircraft to Hawaii, the public is invited to view a brief aerial demonstration the evening of Friday, July 9 off the Waianae Coast. The F-22A demonstration involving two aircraft will showcase some of the capabilities of the U.S. Air Force's most advanced jet fighter. The 15-minute demo will be entirely over water but residents will be able to view the aircraft from coastal areas from Honokai Hale to Waianae. The event will begin at 6:45 p.m.

Basing the F-22A Raptor in Hawaii underscores America's commitment to the Pacific area of responsibility and represents an exponential leap in warfighting capabilities for U.S. forces in the region. The Hawaii Air National Guard's 154th Wing and the U.S. Air Force's 15th Wing will fly and maintain the F-22s at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The capabilities of America's Airmen plus the advanced technology of the F-22A equal an unbeatable force and are a tribute to the success of the Total Force concept. For more information, contact Lt. Col. Charles Anthony at 733-4258.
