JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii- --
Ten Airmen from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, got the opportunity to participate as "Hawaii Five-0" filmed a portion of an upcoming episode at the 15th Wing July 20.
These Airmen, who were doing their regular, day-to-day jobs on set, now have a chance of being in the final shot.
"It was pretty cool," said Staff Sgt. Jerome Thomas, a 535th Airlift Squadron loadmaster. "The guys were really down to earth."
His role was "nothing I don't do on a day-to-day basis on a regular mission," but having it filmed by a Hollywood production company made it extra special.
Kent Matsuoka, the key assistant location manager, said "Hawaii Five-0" also shot an episode here last season, and it has always been pleasurable to work with the Airmen at JBPHH.
"It's not like our job isn't rewarding already, but having something like this ha¬ppen makes it even more so," Thomas said.
"It went so smoothly," said Angela Laprete, a production supervisor. "From the beginning, everyone's been wonderful - it was unbelievably great."
They always try to involve the military in scripts and stories whenever they can, Laprete said.
"We know how significant the military is to the state, so we try to embrace that much as possible, whether it's Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines," she said.
Laprete said she has a personal tie to the base, since her father retired from the Air Force here.
"I love Hickam Air Force Base - it has a special place in my heart," said the Hawaii resident. "It's always nice to come home."
