15th Wing honors memorializes fallen Tuskegee Airman
Airmen from the 15th Wing honored Tuskegee Airman Romaine Horace Goldsborough during a tribute ceremony at the Binnicker Professional Military Education Center at Joint Base Pearl Harbor, Hickam, Jan 29, 2014. The Tuskegee Airmen were men enlisted in the Army Air Corp, stationed or trained at Tuskegee Army Air Field from 1941-1946. They were to become America’s first black military Airmen. The keys to the success of these pilots, bombardiers, maintenance and support staff were that education was critical and excellence was what they lived and breathed. They were in the military at a critical time period where desegregation was occurring and blacks were allowed to become pilots. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Jerome S. Tayborn)
