digital C130
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Miguel Alcantara Ribancos, 912th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron production superintendent, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., hooks up a C-130 to a power generator on the flightline here Aug. 4. The aircraft, which was recently converted from analog systems to digital, landed here during an eight-day integrated systems evaluation. They flew across international datelines and the equator to ensure all the upgraded systems would operate smoothly. The conversion was in line with the Air Force’s avionics modernization program, and the Air Force plans to buy 265 of the upgraded C-130s once testing is complete.
