HICKAM WARRIOR: Airman 1st Class Richard Mallette
JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii - Airman 1st Class Richard Mallette, 15th Maintenance Squadron, is this weeks Hickam Warrior. He maintains, inspects and modifies more than 387 powered and non-powered pieces of Auxiliary Ground Equipment valued at over 13.9 million dollars. He also troubleshoots and repairs AGE malfunctions using technical orders, flow charts, wiring diagrams, and schematics. In addition, he prepares and process’ equipment for war reserve, salvage turn-in, world-wide mobility and United Nations commitments and provides support for the C-17 Globemaster III, C-20 Gulfstream III, C-37A Special Assignment Airlift Mission and C-40B Clipper aircraft and all other transiting aircraft. “Airman Mallette is a perfect example of an all around Hickam Warrior.” said 2nd Lt. Beau Burkley, Auxiliary Ground Equipment flight commander. “This is his first duty station out of tech school where he was the only distinguished graduate out of 30 airmen. He is a great example for all of our airmen to follow.” The lieutenant also said once he arrived on station he continued to strive for excellence in all aspects of his life and hasn't slowed down.
