Beach Bum Parade

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii -- Senior Airman Yommala Xaysanith, 15th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, fires upon parade watchers during the annual Beach Bum Parade May 21 on Hickam. The pirate ship themed float utilized water balloons, water guns and water cannons to douse spectators as they rolled along the three-quarter mile and water hoses as they rolled by in the parade. The parade began at Bishop's Point Pier and ended at Hickam Harbor with free food and entertainment at Foster Point Pavilion. Those who wanted to were able to campout at Hickam Harbor after the parade for a fun, family night, gathered around a campfire for free s'mores. Once the sun set, campers enjoyed a movie on the beach on a large outdoor movie screen. The 15th Maintenance Group took first prize for the second year in a row for the best float.
