Repatriation Ceremony May 22

The remains of a Korean War unknown are passed from a U.S. service member representing the U.S. Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command to a representative from the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of National Defense for Killed in Action Recovery and Identification during a Repatriation Ceremony May 22 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. A total of 12 sets of remains of Korean War unknowns, which were determined to not be U.S. service members by JPAC's Central Identification Laboratory, were transferred custody for further analysis. This is the second time in the past approximately 10 years JPAC has repatriated remains to South Korea. (U.S. Air Force photo by Captain Ben Sakrisson)
