A final journey
Senior Master Sgt. (Ret.) Raymond Perry, attended his final remembrance ceremony alongside his wife, Elizabeth, and family, during the 71st anniversary remembrance ceremony on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Dec. 7, 2012. Perry, a survivor of the attacks, went on to serve 26-years in the Air Force and was a founding member of the pararescue career field. He returned to Hickam and serve for more than 20 years as a fire inspector for the Hickam fire department. After the ceremony, the family and friends of Perry scattered his ashes in the waters of Pearl Harbor during a private ceremony. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Mike Meares)
