Domestic Violence

HONOLULU -- A candlelight vigil with more than 100 attendees including community members, agencies, and the Honoulu Police Department, was held at Lester McCoy Pavilion at Ala Moana Park Oct. 28 to remember and honor the victims who had lost their lives due to domestic violence. Hickam's Family Advocacy Program chaired the planning committee which was made up of more than 15 different agencies, military branches, and community members. The event included display, speeches from survivors of domestic violence, hula dancing, participants were presented with forget-me-not seeds and the vigil ended with a moving candlelight ceremony.
