Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel addresses more than 200 service members from U.S. Pacific Command May 30, 2013, inside aircraft hangar 19 on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Hagel met with Pacific Command leaders before continuing to Singapore to speak at the Shangri-La Dialogue. As a senator, Hagel co-founded of the Shangri-La Dialogue, which began in 2002. This return visit to the dialogue will be his first as secretary of defense. The annual conference draws defense and security experts from across the Asia-Pacific region.
