Reveille ceremony in honor of Independence Day
Members of the 747th Communications Squadron stand at attention prior to a Reveille ceremony on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, July 2, 2015. Reveille originates from the French word for "wake up," the ceromony began as a way to wake military personnel at dawn to assemble for roll call. Today, Reveille is performed to honor the flag of the U.S. and signify the beginning of the duty day. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Aaron Oelrich by Released)
